Eligibility

All team members must be the age of 9 - 23 and over. Secondary schools, Colleges and Universities can have multiple teams. Prior to registration, each team is responsible for identifying one eligible Advisor (see below), who will supervise the team during the competition. In order to rank in the competition, a team must have an advisor in confirmed status. The specified advisor receives an email upon a team registering. The advisor then has the option to confirm or decline the request to advice that team. Should the advisor ignore the email, the status of the advisor remains in unconfirmed status. At the time of the competition, all teams whose advisor remains in unconfirmed or declined status, while able to participate, will not be eligible for prizes or participation certificates. Additionally, their ranking in the competition will not be included in the final rankings. It is the team leader’s responsibility to verify the advisor’s status prior to the competition.

Team members must solve and complete the problems without assistance from other people or prewritten code. Please note that the intent and spirit of the competition is for the students, not others, to solve a problem. Persons acting as Advisors must limit the level of support and must not contribute in any way. In no case will work by an advisor on behalf of a competitor be allowed. Sponsor reserves the right to analyze all submissions for plagiarism and disqualify any team in its sole discretion if the team’s work is not its own. Void where prohibited by Law. Entrants understand that the Sponsor may substitute or withhold prizes as required by law.

Advisors

Each team should have a consultant to oversee competition activities. Both teams and advisors have worked in-person or remotely this year while participating in the competition. Advisors must be at least an experienced engineer and preferably holders of (Masters - Ph.D.) degrees. Neither the student nor the graduate student can serve as advisors but are encouraged to participate as a team member in the competition. Advisor information is required during the registration process.

Advisors’ duties include:

§  Monitoring the general flow of activity.

§  Inform students with the competition timeline.

§  Ensure that no one outside the team is helping or assisting participating students solve problems in any way.

§  Designated advisors are responsible for ensuring that the participants do not engage in plagiarism.

§  Teams must be monitored at all times throughout 24 hours of competition.

§  Sponsor reserves the right to allow remote monitoring.

 Important Notes

§  The advisor must follow his email and receive an email from the competition manager to ACCEPT the project and team members.

§  This step is necessary to complete the acceptance of the project to participate
 in the competition.

 Dear All,

All students participating in the Scientific and Engineering Innovation Competition must communicate with the advisor to confirm and approve the project and the team’s members by clicking on the link sent from the competition website to the advisor (press only once) to approve or decline. This step is very important to confirm participation. In addition, the proposal template on the competition website and not elsewhere must be filled out and uploaded to standardize the assessment for all participants.

Thank you all for your interest in the competition, and good luck to all the participants,
with the Air Defense College’s best wishes for everyone to win.
